Zemo partnership approves Green Biofuels as the first HVO supplier under the Renewable Fuels Assurance Scheme
The Renewable Fuels Assurance Scheme has been created and is managed by Zemo Partnership to provide independent verification of the GHG emission and sustainability performance of high blend renewable fuels used in road transport, including biofuels and renewable hydrogen.
The scheme evidences life cycle GHG emissions across the entire biofuel supply chain – collection of waste, biofuel manufacture, blending, distribution to end customer. It provides accurate and robust GHG emissions for company GHG emission reporting and confidence in feedstock sustainability.
The Renewable Fuels Assurance Scheme is based on three performance criteria – life cycle GHG emissions thresholds, sustainability requirement and traceability. RFAS involves an independent auditor compliance monitoring companies approved under the scheme.
Gloria Esposito, Head of Sustainability, Zemo Partnership comments: “Zemo is delighted to approve Green Biofuels Ltd under the Renewable Fuels Assurance Scheme as our first HVO supplier. HVO is a key drop-in renewable fuel that can significantly lower the carbon footprint for both freight and construction industry operations. Participating in the scheme will enable Green Biofuels Ltd customers to receive robust evidence of the greenhouse gas emission and sustainability performance of their chosen renewable fuel product.”
