Lessening the load on the UK National Grid
"One of the defence company’s locations, situated on the outskirts of Bristol, was finding their electricity network charges were significantly higher during the winter months and they were struggling to find a way to reduce their power consumption" explains Alex Hill, Business Development Manager at Power Electrics.
Power Electrics supported one of the ‘big six’ with the implementation of a Demand Side Response (DSR) service. By using a diesel generator to generate electricity during peak times, this lessened the load on the UK National Grid and energy costs were brought down.
In order to comply with the Medium Combustion Plant Directive (MCPD), we supplied a generator complete with a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) unit and fuelled with GREEND+, a unique Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel.
